PDSA Launch 'Your Right Pet'
PDSA Pets in need of Vets
PDSA have launched a new part of their website called 'Your Right Pet'.

http://www.pdsa.org.uk/managed/yrp-stage1.html

Choosing the right pet is the most important decision that a new owner can make. Making the right choice will ensure your pet leads a healthy and happy life. Use the PDSA 'Your Right Pet' pages to find out which animal might be right for you.

This innovative new website gets potential owners thinking about the cost and time involved in pet ownership. It also focuses on a pet's welfare needs following the introduction of The Animal Welfare Act 2006 which introduced the "duty of care". This is a list of five things that all pet owners must, by law, provide for their pets so that they are healthy and happy. 'Your Right Pet' will suggest pets that might be suitable for you, based on your lifestyle and circumstances.

The easy to use online 'Your Right Pet' questionnaire asks questions about your home, the time you can devote to exercise and other activities, how much money you can spend on your pet, and so on. After suggesting what pets might be suitable for you and your circumstances, the website goes on to explain the pet’s welfare needs. Once you confirm that you can meet these needs, the site recommends where you should get your pet from and which places should be avoided. Once you have reached the finish you get a useful downloadable checklist of things you'll need to buy plus other useful tips and links.

Visit Your Right Pet for more information.
