The Government has been under pressure to review the Dangerous
Dogs Act ever since its conception in 1991. Critics of the Act
were not appeased by subsequent amendments in 1997.
Now the Government is putting forth a consultation on dangerous
dogs, collecting the opinions of law enforcers, rescue organisations,
victims of dog attacks and dog owners from all walks of life who
would like to comment.

would like to hear from those responsible for enforcing the law
relating to dogs, those who have been the victim(s) of dog attacks,
animal welfare organisations, veterinarians, dog homes, dog owners,
and anyone else concerned about dangerous dogs."
Does the current legislation relating to dangerous dogs protect
the public and encourage responsible dog ownership?
