| Awful food, made my dogs hyperactive,
extremely upset stomaches, and they lost all condition in
their coats. I dont understand why they put so much grain
in their food. Since when did dogs go out foraging for grain,
give them a bowl of meat or a bowl of rice and its not rocket
science which one they will eat!! Back to natural feeding
for me then I will have healthy dogs again! |

Burns Pork & Potato was
fantastic for my whippet who has LPE a cronic bowel condition.
Unfortunately of late Burns have changed supplier and the
food quality has changed and now causes my dog constapation.
Burns suggested I add oil to the feed but it has made no difference
and now I am trying to find a suitable alternative.

I
feed all my six elderly rescue dogs on Burns. I mix High Oats,
Chicken and Maize, and Fish and Brown Rice in the dried food
range, plus I put in a bit of one of the Penlan Farm range
moist complete foods, because I want them to have extra vegetable
matter. They are all happy and healthy (having arrived here
in various stages of decrepitude) and the oldest, who is nearly
16, fools everyone into thinking she is half her age, including
her vet. She has a lovely thick glossy coat, sparkly white
teeth (I give her bones as well), clear eyes, healthy ears,
and she seems to get younger by the day.
There are no secrets about what goes into this food, any fish
is responsibly caught, no caged birds are used, and all the
ingredients are sourced locally to Kidwelly. All in all, I
feel confident I am doing the best I can for my dogs by feeding
them on Burns. |

Alfie, my Kerry
Blue Terrier, was prone to getting sores on his tummy (this
started when he was only a few months old). I got umpteen
creams and shampoos from the vets but they worked for a while
but then stopped. When he was about 2 and a half, I came home
from work to find a blood bath and Alfie had blood coming
from this bottom. I rushed him to the vets and they were convinced
he'd eaten aspirin. I knew there was no way he could've done
as I never leave anything like that laying around. After the
vet treating him with antibiotics and probiotics, and much
toing and froing, the vet eventually diagnosed an allergy
to food. I then spent the next few months trying him on different
foods but to no avail, he still got stomach upsets with bleeding
and sores on his tummy. The vet did some research and realised
that he was probably allergic to wheat, gluten and rice, as
this is what forms the base of most foods. I 'googled' wheat,
gluten and rice free dog foods and stumbled across Burns Pork
and Potato - and thank god I did!! Alfie has been on this
now for about the last year and a half, and he's had no problems
- touch wood!

| We
have a 4 year old Doberman who used to be very hyper and active
- to the point of being annoying - and he suffered from dry
itchy skin. We had tried all sorts of different food and had
given up - then someone mentioned Burns. His skin and fur
is lovely now and he is a totally different dog - much more
calm and loving. We order Burns direct and the delivery is
very quick. |

We have a 15 week old Rhodesian Ridgeback. When we picked
her up from the breeder, she was being feed weetabix and milk
in the morning, pedigree chum dry puppy food twice a day and
rice pudding for tea! Gradually we weaned her off and put
her onto Science Plan puppy food. The 2 main issues we personally
have and this is our opinion, which is what our dog experienced,
is that she was thirstier than she had previously been and
was doing more number 2's during the day. We decided to put
her onto Burns as it was recommended to us by someone in the
pet shop. Soki is not half as thirsty as she was previously
and is not going no 2's as often.
We
truly believe that a dogs health and behaviour can be affected
by what they eat, as in humans. The Burns company have been
extremely helpful in offering advice and emails sent to them
are answered very quickly with a wealth of information. We
ordered puppy food from their website as well as natural treats
which have not got all this other rubbish in as some other
treats on the market have and Soki goes mad for these treats
whereas with the other treats you can buy in pet shops, she
likes them but if you want an amazing reaction from your dog,
go for the Burns dog treats. Soki is going to be a lot easier
to train with these! They have dried carrot treats which,
we thought Soki would turn her noise up at but she absolutely
loves them. Burns Venison Tongues, Burns Kelties (natural
wholesome biscuit treat), Burns Ocean Bites (contains 100%
white fish skins), Burns Training Treats (100% fish fillet).
Check out the Burns website. The delivery time is very quick.
We received our order 2 days after purchasing off the Burns
website. We think that Burns dog food and treats are very
very reasonabile priced and well worth it.
Responsible dog owners invest a lot of time and energy caring
for their dogs so why do some of them feed their dogs rubbish? |

It was by pure good fortune rather than any good sense of
ours that caused us to consider the food nutrition that we
fed our beloved rescue. We were stuck at a weight well above
the breed - we had got him down from 50Kg to 41Kg- and he
showed classic signs of vomiting, scratching, fur colour,
bloating et all. With the scales having fallen from our eyes,
we researched the market shocked by the laxity of legislation
(see multi-nationals below) as to what really was in the food.
For
us Burns stood out. An informative website, very knowledgeable
nutritional staff, not a multinational (rare) and pure good
food without the add-ons! Eight months on from our change
to Burns we have a lean (ish 35Kg!) and very happy dog. His
target weight is 34Kg. His previous problems are gone. Needless
to say our recently acquired waif has started on Burns. We
need to get weight on him but that's another story.
Whilst
Burns appears well distributed, if you need to order from
their website they are very quick in delivering to your door.
We only wish we had started with Burns from the beginning. |

I
have been feeding my two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels on
Burns for well over a year now. In that time, my 8 yr old
who has always had a tendency to gain weight has stabilised
and has become very puppy like in his ways, always wanting
to play.
My younger dog is a rescue who wasn't in the best of condition.
He is now the picture of health and so full of energy too.
They both have wonderful glossy coats, no more anal gland
problems and wonderful, clear, sparkling eyes & healthy
ears (any spaniel owner knows that eyes & ears can be
a problem!). The poops are almost void of any smell and completely
solid so far easier and more 'pleasant' to pick up than with
a lot of dog foods! Not one tummy upset in well over a year
in a multi dog household - a complete miracle!
Another good thing about Burns is that the dogs seem to like
the taste and the crunch (which keeps their teeth clean).
I even had a very elderly foster dog here with hardly any
teeth. I just moistened her food to soften it and again a
clean dish within seconds :~D))))
I met Mr Burns and his staff at Crufts and can honestly say
that he is such a lovely man and extremely approachable too
:~) If ever you have any concerns you can contact them by
email or via their contact page or by telephone and they are
all so helpful. I once had a problem with a bag of food and
it was solved over the telephone and rectified within 24 hours
- I don't think any other firm would have acted anywhere near
as quickly! Also, apparently, callers are always welcomed
to their premises in Kidwelly too.
Obviously
nothing to hide with this food and customer service is second
to none. I don't think I would ever feed my dogs on anything
else. |

| I
have a two and half year old bull mastiff called Molli and
she had itchy skin itchy ears she was also very restless.
I feed her on Burns chicken and brown rice. After only 4 weeks
she was like a different dog. Her skin, ears and her temperament
had totally changed . I also have a fourteen week old bull
mastiff. I am feeding her Burns mini bites and she loves it.
In fact all three of us love Burns. |

Burns
is without doubt the best dry dog food on the market. I have
an eight month old jack russell and a ten year old mongrel
and they both love the Burns lamb and brown rice. Both are
well and healthy with a fine gloss to their coat. Not only
is this food 100% natural which maintains a lean fit dog but
it can also help to calm hyper active dogs due to the absence
of 'E' numbers found in such food as Baker's.
With
the healthy changes now being pushed into our own lives people
are becoming more health concious for their pets and both
the dog and cat ranges offer the desired diet.
A
super product and extremely helpful helpline for both stockists
and consumers. 5* |

At present I am
feeding Burns mini bites to my foster dog a 6 month sheltie.
I have used Burns before and always find that you get a healthy
looking dog using it and less if any tummy problems. Poo's
are easy to pick up as they are firm and generally smaller
than on other foods, they also seem to be less smelly!!
I tried the sheltie on Royal Canin but it was too much for
his tummy so we switched to Burns and all is well. |

Burns is a concentrated
food, packed with quality ingredients. This is demonstrated
by much smaller stools from your dog when they switch to this
food. It is not padded out with so many of the ingredients
that are pumped into other brands.
Burns is a dry food, which can be fed that way and is good
for the dog's teeth, but my dog prefers his soaked in a small
amount of warm water.
I have also been really impressed by the Burns nutritional
helpline. We were assigned our own nutritionalist who we could
phone for advice. This was especially helpful as I had switched
my dog to Burns due to a mild skin condition and the nutritionalist
helped me to pick the right Burns food and advised me on their
selection of dog treats too. |
