Stunning leather dog leads made by the tribes people of magical Kenya and beautifully hand beaded in various designs and colours.

'Earth' is made with shades of brown, black, white and gold coloured beads, 'Bright' is multi-coloured, 'Sky' features shades of gold and browns with sky blue and 'Pastel' has soft pinks, yellows, oranges, greens and blues. All in various patterns, shades and designs. Or go for stripes in vibrant blue or red shades. No lead is ever the same.

Masai people have beaded necklaces and wristbands for decades to tell a story of the wearer, their social and marital status, age and key events in their life.

The Masai women handcraft each individual lead using quality dark brown leather which they adorn with colourful beads along the length of the lead.

These leads are 44 inches long (approx 3.5 foot) and available in two widths. The 1/2" suits the terrier collars while the 3/4" width is for larger dogs and the hound collars. It is best to choose a lead width that matches the width of your dog's collar.

Please note that the bead colours and designs vary from lead to lead and from those pictured. The images simply give an idea of the colours of the beads used and the variety of designs.

Treat the leather well and it will grow even more beautiful with age. To clean, rinse in warm water then treat with Neatsfoot Oil for waterproofing or saddle soap. This will keep the leather healthy and supple. Avoid contact with salt (sea) water and chemicals (e.g. cleaning products, flea treatments).
