Personalised wooden dog bowls double 2 bowls

This raised set of feeding bowls features paw prints and can also be personalised with your dog's name or short text of your choice. The wood is finished with your choice of stain colour. Stunning.

No more knocking over of bowls plus these sturdy feeders with their non-slip feet will mean no more dogs chasing food bowls round the floor at meal times. Woof!

All the wood used is new wood that is Kite marked from the supplier. Each item is sanded, treated and finished in a pet friendly stain.

Choose from rustic grey, classic black (with gold or silver coloured text) or oak effect stain. The top of the raised wooden feeder is finished with a waterproof lacquer, to cope with spills.

The two bowls provided can be easily removed for washing.

Raised feeders and elevated dog bowls offer an anatomically correct feeding height for your dog. They improve your dog’s feeding posture and can aid better digestion. Raised bowls can be especially beneficial to larger dogs, older dogs or dogs with stiff joints or arthritis. When using raised dog bowls for large dogs, please make sure not to go too high. This can do more harm than good. Please see our guide below.

Best raised dog bowl height?

If you are unsure what height your dog needs, please see our advice here Raised Dog Bowls - All you need to know. It is important not to go too high. An elevated feeder or dog bowl stand should be just the right height for your dog to eat or drink with their head looking down and their neck also in a downwards position. Going too high can do more harm than good.

The best thing to do is to hold a bowl up while your dog is eating in a comfortable position. See where that comes to and choose the feeder height accordingly. Don't forget to also take the bowl depth into account. As a general rule, measure your dog from the floor to where their legs meet their body and don't get a raised bowl or feeder that is taller than that. That is the maximum height it should be.

best height for raised dog bowl

Looking at the images above, you can see how your dog's head and neck should be in a downward direction, not elevated upwards at all. If your dog is looking up or even part of their neck or head it slightly inclined, the feeder is too high for them. If in doubt, go lower than you might expect. It doesn't need to be really high off the floor. A small elevation from the floor is better than going too high for your dog to eat or drink comfortably.
